Commodity Manager

Commodity Manager – Fareham – £50,000 – £60,000 – Permanent

Excipions client is a prestigious Aerospace company, they are a global technology leader in electronics aerospace technology and systems for power quality, hydraulics components, systems and services for industrial and mobile equipment. Our client is looking to recruit a Commodity Manager to manage their general manufacturing categories.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in all aspects of commodity management. Our client manufactures completely new parts for aerospace and defence organisations as well as modify existing product lines. Duties will include:

Responsible for supplier delivery on time inventory levels
Building, leading and managing a team of Procurement Professionals
Establishing supplier capacity planning model
Responsible for cost out and delivery project initiation and time lines
Implementing and executing projects related to the commodity strategy
Developing and continuously improving standardised purchasing process
Developing strong relationships with suppliers and clients
Responsible for accuracy of records in the ERP system

The successful candidate must be degree qualified and have strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management concepts surrounding commodity management, scheduling, purchasing and inventory control. You will also have strong leadership skills as well as capability to make decisions impacting the whole SCM structure.

The successful candidate will be capable of making significant, independent decisions and working under pressure and according to deadlines.

This role will suit someone currently working as a Commodity Manager or Purchasing Manager or Procurement Manager or Strategic Senior Buyer or Technical Buyer or Category Lead or Supply Chain Manager or Procurement and Supply Chain Manager within an engineering or manufacturing business.
