Construction Buyer

Construction Buyer – Coventry – Permanent – £40-45,000

Excipion are currently recruiting for a Construction Buyer to join a fantastic company in Coventry city who provide luxury student halls of residence.

You will be report directly to the Project Manager forecasting procurement needs and maintaining project budgets.

Construction Buyer Responsibilities:

Produce product specifications for existing sites and new builds.
Build and develop relationships with key manufacturers/suppliers and customers in the building/construction sector.
Secure manufacturers for products at varying costs and quantities.
Obtain best import and agency terms with manufacturers/suppliers.
Obtain best credit facilities, terms of payments and profit margins with manufacturers/suppliers.
Closely watch and monitor competitors’ prices and product list.
Perform market surveys on competitors’ prices, discount rates and products every quarter.
Review quotations; negotiate prices, delivery terms with manufacturers and suppliers.
Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issue purchase orders
Maintain and up-date procurement files in orderly fashion
Provide a price list and product materials to the Operations Team.
Discuss defective or unacceptable delivered goods with clients, manufacturers and transporters to determine cause of problem while taking corrective and preventative action immediately.
Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorisation as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of products

Construction Buyer Capabilities:

Experience in purchasing in the Construction industry
Organisational Skills
Excellent relationship building skills
Excellent IT/Microsoft office skills

This position is likely to suit a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Construction Buyer, Junior Buyer,
Purchasing Specialist, Purchasing Agent or Procurement Specialist.
