Operations Co-ordinator – Logistics – Grimsby – £18,000 – £20,000

The role of Operations / Logistics Co-ordinator will be to take control and responsibility for an export contract, currently moving automotive units from the UK to other locations around the world. This role involves stock and cross checking of VIN numbers, against their expected location, and the generation of bookings onboard feeder and deep sea vessels as well as raising bills of Lading and Freight invoices as required.

Key Accountabilities:
– Managing the receipt, handling and development of new bookings via clients in-house systems
– Managing the day-to-day flow of paperwork for export shipments
– Preparing quotes and follow-ups
– Co-ordinating new and existing bookings with customers, suppliers, and local and overseas agents
– Ensuring clients and agents are constantly updated on the progress of their shipments
– Issuing the relevant transport documents and invoices
– Chasing quotes results, analyse and improve when needed
– General office administration / adhoc duties

You must have:
– Working knowledge of Freight forwarding and/or Export bookings
– Experience of working in a customer facing role in the shipping/maritime industry
– Experience of working with an operating or customer relationship management system
– Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures and delivering work in accordance to SLAs

Skills required:
– Strong communicator written and verbal
– Ability to work under pressure and to strict timelines
– Able to effectively manage own work and be able to work unsupervised
– Competent user of MS Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
